She's here!

The majority of you guessed it right! It was a girl!

 

Miss Natalie Marie

 

was born on Tuesday, April 23rd at 9:44pm.
 (after almost not making it to the hospital in time!)

 

She entered the world weighing 6lbs and 10oz and was 19 1/4 inches long.

 

She is just perfect!

 

 

And her big sisters couldn't be happier to have a healthy little sister at home. They are big helpers, and don't want to take their hands off her! :)

 

She has been sleeping the majority of time, but is usually awake for a few hours during the day so the girls can see her with her eyes open. They seem to think she needs to be awake all the time to play! That will happen soon enough. For now, we are very thankful that she is a happy, healthy baby that eats and sleeps like babies should!

A Blessed Easter Weekend

We started our Easter weekend with a fun but chilly Easter egg hunt through the snow!

 

Followed by a delicious treat for all their hard work!

 

 Add in a little Easter egg decorating...

 

 

an Easter parade with Easter bonnets,

 



 

lots of family and delicious food ,

 

and a beautiful Easter mass.

 

 

A blessed Easter indeed! :)

 

Big Girl Bed

She's been waiting....

 

 

and waiting...

 

 

and patiently waiting...

 

 

for the time to move into her big girl room!

And the time finally arrived!!!!!

 

Of course she can't go to bed without her kiki (blanket), Purple (the stuffed bear WITH her headband and wand on), her music, her nightlight AND her bug light.

 

 

She was so excited, I didn't know if she would sleep through the night!

(oh, wait... she loves sleeping! of course she'd sleep through the night)

 

And she did!

 

What a big girl! And so nice to pass her crib on to the new baby coming in only 5 weeks!

 

 

 



A Weekend Away

The other weekend, we got  a chance to get away. We took a nice little trip to the cities with my family. For weeks, Emma has been bugging us about going swimming. She was still jealous of Maria getting to swim every night while on vacation with daddy. So after a long drive, our first stop was the pool! (even though it was already 9pm!)

 

We spent the following day at Mall of  America.

 

First up was building a bear. If you've never done it, here's how it works:

 

1. Pick out a an animal.

 

2. Pick out a heart.

 

3. Rub the heart to make it warm; on your heart to give it love; on your head to make it smart, etc.

 

4. Push the peddle to fill it with stuffing.

 

5. Sew it up.

 

6. Fluff it!

 

7. Love it! :)

 

After that, we ventured through the rides...

ate lots of food and shopped of course!

 

Unfortunately after all the excitement over the weekend, the girls left with exhaustion...

 

 and fevers. And even worse, it lasted over a week and a half!

 

We are finally starting to feel better around here, and it's a good thing! We have several busy days ahead of us. Birthday parties, moving my sister and brother-in-law into their new house, celebrating EASTER, finishing the basement, moving Emma to her new big girl room, planning prom at my school, and getting ready for baby #3! All in only six and a half weeks! :)

 

 

 

A Party Fit for a Princess

 

A royal event was held this past weekend at our home....

 

(the invites)

 

for a sweet little princess who turned four!

 

 

Guests were asked to dress up like their favorite prince or princess if they wanted.

 

We enjoyed a nice lunch,

 

Opening gifts,

 

and of course eating cake!

It was a perfect day!

 



SNOW DAY

Let me tell you....

 

this whole family was ready for our SNOW DAYS this past weekend.

 

We needed an excuse to stay home and get rid of our nasty colds.

 

 

So what do you do when you are snowed in? With no school?

 

 

Play in the snow (of course!)....

drink hot chocolate...

 

 

make sweet valentines for school...

 

 

read stories and relax....

 

and enjoy the view of the beautiful 12" of new snow....

 

And when we have a little more energy around here, we (ok let's be honest.... by we I mean Joe ;) will continue working on finishing our basement. The goal is to have it done before baby arrives, which is only 2.5 months away! Eeeek! :)

 

Oh and did you know that my big girl turns 4 in 11 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where does the time go?

A Homecoming

Joe and Maria (and some family) left last Friday on a snowmobiling adventure in West Yellowstone. Maria was a trooper during the extremely long truck ride and several days of long snowmobiling rides.

 

 

 

So what did Ems and I do all week while they were on vaction you ask?

 

This is a snapshot:

 

Shopping adventures,

Hanging out with old friends,

Make-believe hot tubing (we were jealous of daddy and Maria at the pool everyday),

Em's first go at daycare (which she loved!),

Supper with my parents,

Cuddling in front of the fire (instead of being outside in the negative wind chills)

Lots of playing and reading books,

No laundry,

No washing loads of dishes,

No fighting...

 

Peace and Quiet.

 

And even though that quiet was nice for a night or so...

 

it made me realize even more that

I love our chaotic, crazy nights with my whole family home together. It may be loud, messy, and time seems rushed, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I missed my big girl and husband and I'm ready to have a relaxing weekend with them and enjoy the time we have at home together.

 

Christmas has arrived!

We had four different countdowns this year until the big day.... and it finally arrived!

 

Here's how it all went down:

 

Christmas Eve Morning we awoke to a nice breakfast, then suited up in our warmest gear for the annual hockey game at Joe's grandparents.

 

 

Maria tested out her new ice skates for the first time, and LOVED them! She didn't want to go inside! After only about 20 minutes, she was skating all by herself.

 

 

Then we roasted hot dogs and visited with some extended family.

 

In the evening, we went to mass to celebrate the reason for the season, then headed to grandma and grandpa's house for a nice supper and playtime with the cousins. We were so excited to have our newest cousin, Jackson, join us for his first Christmas!

 

 

 The evening concluded with opening gifts, the highlight of the night for the youngsters!

 

 

Christmas day arrived...and so did Santa! The girls enjoyed opening their presents very much. Then we got ready and headed over to the other grandma and grandpa's house for a yummy lunch and more presents! (and lots of play time with auntie's kitty, Pandora)

 

It was an amazing Christmas, that of course went by way to fast. We are so blessed to have family so close to celebrate with (and enough room to store all the new toys! :)
